Family Foundation CEO Symposium Set For March 23-24th in Washington, DC

Planning for the first-ever National Symposium on the role of family foundation CEOs is underway. This symposium is a central component of the National Center’s new Family Foundation CEO Initiative, which will assist the National Center in developing a blueprint for use by foundation leaders, including trustees, to maximize board-staff relationships, address professional development needs, and plan for transitions to new leaders in family philanthropy. The symposium will be held on March 23-24th in Washington, DC at The Pew Charitable Trusts’ new state-of-the-art D.C. Conference Center. The Symposium will include 100 invited CEOs exploring a variety of themes conceived by our distinguished CEO Initiative Advisory Committee.

Austin: October 11-13: Association for Small Foundation’s Annual Conference. The National Center is pleased to be a featured presenter at ASF's National conference. Our session, on October 11 from 3:00 to 4:30, entitled "Family Foundation Succession Planning: Who Will Lead the Way?", will introduce the first steps of planning for transitions, as well as successful models for succession planning, tips to plan for transitions and ways to communicate clearly. The conference as a whole promises to offer a full menu of sessions and resources for family foundations - let us know if you can make it; we hope to see you there!

New York: January 23-25: Bridges: the 2011 Family Philanthropy Conference, sponsored by the Council on Foundations. National Center Vice President Susan Price serves on the planning committee for this conference, which promises to be one of the most vibrant, interesting, and inspiring conference experiences in years.
