Grandparent Legacy Project Released
November 2008
Produced and published by two leading organizations in family philanthropy, THE GRANDPARENT LEGACY PROJECT features fifteen indepth interviews with grandparents from recognized families of wealth. The book also lays out thorough recommendations and workbook tools for grandparents, parents, and grandchildren who want to explore the legacies within their own families. Accompanying this hardbound, glossy publication is a CD, presenting all fifteen interviews in audio format as well as an accompanying website with selected podcasts.
According to the book’s introduction, written by 21/64 Director Sharna Goldseker and Association of Small Foundations CEO Timothy Walter: “The idea of conveying stories has long been a part of our society and has become more prevalent in the philanthropic world in the last ten years.… Motivated by [the] forthcoming wealth transfer, families are coming to terms with their ‘inheritances’ beyond the dollars – long before the wills are read – and are inviting the next generation to participate in family philanthropy.”
