The National Center for Family Philanthropy hosts a monthly ‘teleconference’ that provides you with a great way to align your organization’s work with some of the cutting-edge topics featured in these discussions. These teleconferences attract 100 registrants on average, and focus on a variety of topics of importance to the field (see upcoming topic listing below) Sponsorship opportunities are priced at $1,500, and include 2 complimentary registrations.
- An audience that averages around 100 registrants, with the actual number being higher as a result of organizations “sharing” phone lines into the conference.
- An announcement by the moderator thanking the sponsor for their support and including a brief blurb about your work in the area and how attendees can find out more about your organization.
- All email marketing announcements will include your logo and announce your sponsorship. Your branding will be included in the email that provides the Powerpoint presentations to attendees in the days immediately preceding the teleconference.
- A follow up to all attendees after the teleconference will once again mention the sponsor.
- Long-term benefit: All teleconferences are permanently archived on our site for our Family Philanthropy Online Knowledge Center and so your sponsorship will ‘live on’ through the years with your logo (and announcements) for individuals who came back to listen to the teleconference after the event.
The Right Way to Handle Conflicts of Interest March 11, 2009
National Center research shows that only about half of family foundations have a conflict of interest policy. Yet conflicts often arise if, for example, a board or staff member volunteers for or serves on the board of a nonprofit that seeks funds from the foundation. Two of our speakers, Diana Gurieva, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Dyson Foundation, and Mary Mountcastle, a trustee of both the Mary Reynolds Babcock and Z. Smith Reynolds Foundations, will share how their foundations have dealt with conflicts of interest. They’ll be joined by Kelley Simone, Senior Staff Attorney at the Council on Foundations.
