The National Center for Family Philanthropy’s new ‘Pursuit of Excellence’ initiative is changing the culture of effectiveness in the field and is the first and only assessment process designed specifically for family foundations to help them improve their performance. Family foundations now have the tools with which to benchmark their performance with their peers in the sector, and to implement steps to improve core efficiencies. The ‘Pursuit of Excellence’ assessment is increasingly being viewed as a great accreditation tool for foundations. If your organization works closely with the family foundation sector, this serves as a wonderful gift you can offer to existing or potential foundation clients.
“Our Board of Directors took the Pursuit of Excellence survey as part of our board retreat this year. Pursuit of Excellence was the best tool our board has ever utilized to measure our strengths and weaknesses as they relate to the governance of our family foundation. The survey was thorough, thought provoking, and yet very manageable. The results helped our board launch into a dynamic and productive conversation about board governance.” –
