Invitation to Friends of the Family

Philanthropic families like yours improve the lives of countless Americans and, indeed, people throughout the world. The National Center serves as a resource for families to share expert advice, essential tools and an extensive network of advocates for family philanthropy. Your commitment to service, excellence and the public good represents what we want to encourage as well as what encourages us.

Since our founding in 1998 we’ve developed a program of research, educational workshops, publications, and direct personal assistance. While making sure that giving families and their advisors are well served, we are also committed to promoting and developing leadership —within families and within the community of family philanthropy.

To that end we have established a special philanthropic network that can increase the power of your philanthropy, connect you with other people who are making a difference, and encourage people from every generation to give back. Friends of the Family recognize that the National Center for Family Philanthropy —because of its specific commitment to this very personal and vital grantmaking —is uniquely positioned to advocate for and support giving families, their staffs, their advisors, and the organizations that work with them.

We invite you to become a Friend as we learn together, sharing information and expertise about family giving and expanding the knowledge and understanding of family philanthropy. Your support will help develop and improve our collective work, expand family giving in all its forms, and provide you with direct access to the National Center’s staff and informational resources.

I encourage you to explore this website to learn about the National Center and the value of becoming a Friend of the Family. Call us at 202-293-3424 if you have any questions. I look forward to welcoming you into our leadership group committed to family giving.

Sincerely,

Virginia M. Esposito
President
