Parenting with a Silver Spoon: an Interview with Eileen and Jon Gallo

Eileen and Jon Gallo studied affluent families whose children were responsible and well-grounded, in order to recommend methods for shielding children from the potential negative effects of affluence. They found that emphasizing internal motivation, giving an allowance, and encouraging development of interests all helped parents raise well-adjusted children. Includes sidebars on positive and negative effects of affluence and ‘The Ten Worst Things You Can Say’ about money.
