Paul N. Ylvisaker was a noted city planner, government official, foundation executive, and dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 1972-1982. He was known for his efforts in addressing urban issues, for philanthropy, and for committing the Harvard Graduate School of Education to a public service mission. Dr. Ylvisaker headed President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Task Force on Cities and served as the Ford Foundation’s public affairs director.
