Wil Weldon is an adventure-seeking and award-winning documentary filmmaker who grew up in Thomasville and now resides in Durham, North Carolina. Wil holds an AB in English and Film/Video, from Duke University and a MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he was a Roy H. Park Fellow. He spent a year after college living and working with late paraplegic author Reynolds Price, who was later the subject of his first documentary. 

Wil has done documentary work in nine countries, has directed and produced four feature films, recently won several awards for his latest short biographical documentary, and has a deep passion for legacy storytelling and creation. His latest two films, Rarefied and The Imaginary Village of Allan Gurganus have been met with praise and awards. Wil co-founded Storied Legacy in 2015 as a means to help families and individuals better preserve the histories they value.
