Elaine Gast Fawcett, Contributing Editor to the National Center for Family Philanthropy, is a philanthropy writer and communications strategist who has been telling people's stories since fifth grade. For the past 20 years, she has worked to strengthen the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors by sharing the practices that elevate governance, management, and community impact. Elaine has interviewed 1000+ family foundation trustees and leaders, and has authored books, reports, toolkits, articles, and communications campaigns for family foundations and grantmaker associations (including NCFP). She has managed multi-million dollar grant programs for foundations including The David & Lucile Packard Foundation and the Blue Shield of California Foundation, and is a certified multigenerational family trainer with 21/64. Elaine enjoys meandering mountain trails of the east SF Bay Area, where she lives with her husband and three young girls.
