Andrea Cummings

Vice President of Philanthropic Services, The Minneapolis Foundation

Andrea Cummings is the Vice President of Philanthropic Services at the Minneapolis Foundation. She started at the Foundation in 2020 and works collaboratively to cultivate a community of generosity–partnering with nonprofits and providing services to donors and fundholders seeking to make a difference in their communities. Andrea works to build systems, tools, and relationships that inspire engagement and impact for Donor Advised Funds, Employee Assistance Funds/Disaster Relief Funds, Scholarship Funds, Designated/Single Beneficiary Funds, and Specific/Single Purpose Funds. Andrea has been working for nonprofits for nearly 25 years, starting her career as a Social Worker and transitioning 20 years ago to philanthropy and fundraising. She’s worked and volunteered at organizations in the fields of human services, education, community and economic development, and healthcare. Andrea is passionate about designing systems and tools to help create both operational efficiency and greater proximity to our communities. Andrea received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her Master’s degree from Arizona State University.
