Ayanna Wakefield serves as Assistant Vice President, Family Office Partners at Foundation For The Carolinas where she works with individuals and families and helps them achieve their philanthropic goals through strategic planning, board administration, and grantmaking.

Ayanna believes in the power of matching funders’ desires with community needs. In her opinion, change happens when individuals are engaged with their communities and get proximate to the issues they seek to resolve.

Ayanna has assisted funders with her guidance and support in awarding millions of dollars in competitive grants during her 10 years of service at Foundation For The Carolinas (FFTC).

Ayanna received a certificate of Nonprofit Management from UNC Charlotte in 2012 and holds a BA in Journalism/ Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma. Involved in the Charlotte community, Ayanna has served on various Boards and is currently on the Board of Directors for Junior League of Charlotte.
She resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, Jonathan, son Elijah (8), and their 2-year-old Wheaten Terrier/ Beagle rescue, Gracie.
