Jason Born is senior advisor at the National Center for Family Philanthropy (NCFP). Jason helps track trends and leading-edge approaches to inform how NCFP develops suggested practices for effective family philanthropy and supports the president on strategies, partnerships, and member engagements. With more than 30 years of experience supporting philanthropic families, Jason holds deep knowledge of family philanthropy and NCFP’s membership and connects dots across and between members and NCFP staff.
This is Jason’s second stint at NCFP; he previously served as NCFP’s program director from 1997 to 2005. Between his tenures, he was part of the team at the Melville Charitable Trust that helped launch the affinity group Funders Together to End Homelessness. Prior to his role with NCFP, Jason was a program coordinator at the Council on Foundations.
Jason earned his master’s in economics from Tulane University and his BA from Washington University in St. Louis. Originally from rural Maine, he now lives outside of Boston with his wife and two sons and where you can often find him on the baseball field or listening to his younger son’s rock band.
