Impact Investing Practitioners Peer Network: One Family’s Approach to Impact Investing
Available to board members and senior staff members at NCFP Member organizations
Virtual meeting
Families who embrace impact investing use a spectrum of tools and techniques to align their mission with their investments. Hear from Mortenson Family Foundation board member Mark Mortenson and Executive Director Ambar Cristina Hanson about the evolution of the foundation’s impact investing journey, which began in 2007 and supports impact themes of expanding opportunities for children and families, sustaining environmental systems, and strengthening developing communities.
Learn how they developed and executed their strategy and how it functions in tandem with their grantmaking priorities and goals for perpetuity. Today, the foundation applies its impact objectives across its entire endowment portfolio and considers itself as both a grantmaking and investment partner to communities, as it pursues its commitment to aligning 100 percent of the foundation’s assets for impact. Bring your own questions and experiences to consider with your peers.
The last 15 minutes of the program will be reserved for optional networking.
This network is designed exclusively for NCFP Members who are executive leaders, board members, or family members of family philanthropies that are actively engaged in impact investing and eager to refine their strategy.
