Join us to hear the story of the Ray C. Anderson Foundation’s spenddown journey. We will explore why the family chose this path, the process they used to reach that decision, and how the foundation is using its final years to maximize its mission.
The foundation announced in 2025 that it will sunset by the end of 2030. John Lanier, executive director of the foundation and grandson of Ray C. Anderson, will be joining us to share more about how the foundation is attempting to “make the biggest difference in the shortest amount of time.” He will also discuss how they aim to inspire others to prioritize climate-related funding and consider the merits of spending down.
For those who would like to participate, we will have an additional 15 minutes of networking time at the end of the program.
This peer network is open only to staff members, board members, and family members at family foundations who are spending down or considering spending down; philanthropic advisors who are currently staffing a family foundation that is spending down or considering spending down; or alumni (staff, board, or family members) of a spend-down foundation. Attendees do not need to be NCFP Members.
