Claribel is a proud Latina and native New Yorker with extensive experience working at both the local and national levels on racial justice, education justice and voting rights. Throughout her career, she has held diverse roles in advocacy, direct service delivery, and grantmaking. Her lived experiences have deeply shaped her commitment to reimagining and building a more just world.
Before joining Kolibri, Claribel served as a Program Associate on the Civic Engagement and Government team at the Ford Foundation. There, she co-led the program’s $1.5M investments in disability inclusion and healing justice, advancing critical initiatives at the intersection of social justice and systemic change.
