Jennifer Buffet

Jennifer Buffett is Co-Chair and President of the NoVo Foundation (“NoVo” is Latin: create. change.) a philanthropic organization focused primarily on the empowerment of women and girls. She has taken the lead shaping the strategic direction of NoVo and shares Board leadership of the foundation with her husband, composer and producer, Peter Buffett. NoVo Foundation’s approach is to invest in long-term strategic initiatives that lead to systemic change. One of NoVo’s largest efforts to date has been a partnership with the Nike foundation to promote “The Girl Effect,” which focuses on bringing more resources to adolescent girls as the solutions to alleviating poverty worldwide.  NoVo presently supports strategic work in the United States and globally to strengthen the movement to end violence against women and to promote economic and social justice. Jennifer was named by Newsweek as one of the “150 women who shake the world” and recently by Inside Philanthropy as one of the top ten most powerful women in U.S. philanthropy.
