Newthithing Group was a nonprofit founded by Claude Rosenberg, who made a fortune managing other people’s money and then forged a second career as a proponent of increased charitable giving. He created a web site that enabled users at any income and asset level to calculate how much they might prudently donate. The organization closed in 2005 after Rosenberg became ill with Alzheimer’s disease.
