Sybil Hite was a Trustee and Vice President of The Hite Foundation, a small family foundation started by her husband in 1987. From 2006-2008, she served on Philanthropy New York’s Board of Directors and was a member of several networks and committees, including the Family Foundation Trustee Peer Network, the Increasing Diversity in Philanthropy Committee, and the Committee on Directors and Governance. She passed away on December 27, 2008, following a year-long battle against leukemia.
