Dr. Yumiko Aratani began her postdoctoral research at NCCP in August 2006. She is currently the acting director of child health/mental health at NCCP. She is the recent recipient of the Calderone Junior Faculty Prize at Mailman School of Public Health, where she examines the impact of housing subsidies on young children’s cognitive and socio-emotional development.

She has previously served as the lead data analyst for Unclaimed Children Revisited, a series of policy and impact analyses of mental health services for children, adolescents, and their families. Yumiko was a scholar at the Columbia University Center for Homeless Prevention Studies in 2007-2008, which was funded to conduct research on Youth, Homelessness and Education.
