Barbara Andersen serves as Director, Strategic Partnerships for the Orfalea Foundation. The Orfalea Foundation encourages local non-profit organizations to collaborate and develop strategic partnerships. Andersen leads this effort to increase the efficiency of our grant-making and maximize the philanthropic impact of our collective efforts. Previously, Andersen directed the Aware & Prepare Initiative, a public-private partnership to strengthen emergency preparedness in Santa Barbara County. She facilitated the coordination and collaboration of multiple jurisdictions, non-profit organizations, philanthropic institutions, and local businesses within Santa Barbara County. Andersen received her Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in International and National Security Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in New York.
