Senior Vice President and Strategy Advisor, The Miami Foundation

Charisse Grant is the Senior Vice President & Strategy Advisor. She engages across the organization and Greater Miami to focus on and unlock the Foundation’s potential for greater community impact. She designs and leads major investing efforts that target strategic change and community building, serves as a senior advisor to the President and CEO, develops staff as leaders to advance Foundation goals, and directs our civic leadership development program. Charisse joined the Foundation in 1995 and has extensive community and nonprofit knowledge and experience helping donors and national funders achieve their philanthropic goals. Before joining the Foundation, she was a reporter for the Miami Herald newspaper covering a range of issues and graduated from the University of Missouri. She is a Board Member of the Florida Philanthropic Network, a 2021 BMe Community Vanguard Fellow, member of Leadership Florida Class XXIX, an International Women’s Forum Fellow, served on the Children’s Trust and the City of Miami Bond Oversight boards, and as a volunteer teacher in Namibia.
