Changing Grantmaking Priorities: The Angell Foundation

Changing religious perspectives lead co-founder Jen Angell and her adult daughter to question the Angell Foundation’s singular twenty-year commitment to parochial schools, and to explore other types of education funding. Jen’s husband and two of their sons are concerned for the future viability of several schools without Angell’s continued funding.

Effective grantmaking aligns donor legacy and family interests with a changing world. Sometimes it takes courage to realign grantmaking to both honor family legacy and address urgent community needs.
