C. Davis Parchment

Partnerships Director, PEAK Grantmaking

Davis Parchment (she, her, hers) is proud to serve as PEAK’s first partnerships director, entrusted with leading the organization’s engagement strategy with philanthropic and peer organizations in support of the Principles for Peak Grantmaking. She aims to cocreate deep collaborations that will transform philanthropy to be more equitable, effective, and efficient while positioning the grants community as change leaders for the sector.

Davis has long worked to support a social sector driven by better data, research, and analysis throughout her 15-year tenure at Candid, one of our partner organizations, and its precursor Foundation Center. You may have seen her at one of many PEAK events and in blogs over the years drum-rolling the importance of the data in improving decision making and driving equity. She served as the point person for a strategic partnership with CHANGE Philanthropy, PEAK, and Candid to raise awareness about the importance of collecting and sharing demographic data in driving more equitable grantmaking. Our message: You can’t change what you can’t see.

In her most recent role at Candid, she served as director of partnership where she was responsible for elevating and expanding the reach of Candid by building partnerships and strategies to strengthen the social sector through comprehensive data, training, and insights on philanthropy. Prior to that, she served as manager of global projects and partnerships where she helped to develop strategies and execute a wide range of projects that use data to drive decision-making and advance knowledge for the sector. In 2013, she led Foundation Center’s Electronic Reporting Program and managed outreach efforts and relationships with foundations, affinity groups, regional associations, financial advisers, and software partners to promote more detailed and timely reporting of grants information. Originally hired as part of the nonprofit services team, she was responsible for designing and delivering training programs in support of the capacity building needs of nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Prior to joining Foundation Center, Davis spent over 12 years in various nonprofit organizations working in fundraising, nonprofit management, education, and international development.  She received her BA in political philosophy and economics from Mount Holyoke College, and her EdM in education from Harvard University.
