Paul Liu

Managing Director, Cambridge Associates

Paul Liu is a Managing Director in the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates. He is based in San Francisco following a posting in Sydney, where Paul helped grow the firm’s advisory practice with institutional and family investors in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. He currently partners with eleven clients managing roughly $5 billion in total assets. Paul works on a broad range of general investment issues including asset allocation, portfolio construction, and manager selection. He is also responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of custom hedge fund programs as well as the evaluation of new and established hedge fund managers.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 2005, Paul was a Vice President at Beacon Pointe Advisors, where he helped nonprofit institutions with general investment issues and led the firm’s research efforts in alternative assets. While in business school, Paul was a sector analyst at a long/short equity hedge fund. Prior to that, he was a Product Specialist at McMorgan & Company and an analyst at Montgomery Securities.

Paul is a member of the Board of Directors of the Gumerlock Family Foundation. He is also a member of the Investment Committee at the Educational Foundation of Orinda.
