Bob Tobin

Senior Consultant and President, Williams Group

Bob Tobin consults with a variety of private and public corporations, as well as nonprofit organizations. His areas of specialty are strategic planning, marketing, brand positioning, and communications program design.

His corporate client experiences involve global leaders in a range of industries, such as Citibank, DuPont, IBM, Lucent Technologies, Steelcase, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. His public sector experience includes major engagements for United States federal government agencies. His nonprofit experience features community service, education and youth development organizations—including work with hundreds of U.S. community foundations, with the Public Education Network and America’s Promise Alliance, and with the World YMCA movement. Since 2000, Bob has supported philanthropic organizations including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the C.S. Mott Foundation, The James Irvine Foundation, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, College Futures Foundation, Democracy Fund, the Barr Foundation, and several others. He and his firm, Williams Group, have been a lead communication resource to the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation since 2014.

Bob is engaged as a consultant, speaker, trainer and facilitator; he is a featured presenter at a variety of association meetings and conferences. He joined Williams Group in 1984 following five years in local government. Bob has a B.A. and a Masters in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
