Brinson Foundation Announces Leadership Transition
James D. Parsons will step down as Brinson Foundation president at the end of 2019. During the past fifteen years, Jim helped the board and staff implement best practices in governance and management, refine the Foundation’s grantmaking strategies and leveraged their grantmaking through his leadership in the non-profit sector. Christy Uchida, Senior Program Officer, will succeed Jim as president. Christy is an active member of NCFP’s Non-family Staff Peer Network.
The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation announced the recent election of Kofi Appenteng and Justin McAuliffe to serve as members of its board of directors. Kofi Appenteng’s career is filled with a deep commitment to African youth, leadership and economic development, as well as to US-Africa relations. He is the chief executive officer of the Africa-America Institute (AAI). Justin McAuliffe is a great-grandson of Conrad Hilton, a grandson of Chairman Emeritus Barron Hilton, and the first of the fourth-generation direct descendants of Conrad Hilton to join the board of directors.
Rick Williams has stepped down as CEO of the Sobrato Family Foundation and will transition to a Senior Adviser role. No successor has been named.
