The Stranahan Foundation was created in 1944 by brothers Frank D. and Robert A. Stranahan, founders of the Champion Spark Plug Company in Toledo, Ohio.  Today, the Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of one third generation and eleven fourth generation family members, all descendants of Frank and Robert, as well as a non-family member whose expertise is especially beneficial to our work. The purpose of the Stranahan Foundation is to assist individuals and groups in their efforts to become more self-sufficient and contribute to the improvement of society and the environment.
